Do you want to win the chance to join the 2008 judging panel, help decide this year’s best book for young adults and attend the award ceremony in London in November there you will be able to meet the 2008 shortlisted authors?

All you have to do is write a short story using the space below, in no more than 500 words, on the theme of ‘My Great Escape’. Your story should be gripping, imaginative and dramatic. You might like to think about escaping from a dangerous situation, or how about escaping into imaginary worlds?

The four winning and the five running-up stories will be published on www.bookheads.org.uk All winners will receive a complete set of the 2008 shortlisted books.
